We Get There Together

Shameka Parrish-Wright for Mayor

“As mayor, I will work tirelessly to improve our expenditures and use every dollar we can get to better our parks, roads, human services, public transportation and most of all public health so we can reimagine public safety.”

“Show up, assess, listen, support, delegate and negotiate until we create what is needed. I’ve been performing Mayor duties all the while in my own family, community and faith.”

“Our city is struggling, our infrastructure is severely damaged and our youth and seniors have too little to look forward too.”

It’s My Birthday!

Yes! I will be 45 years old the Monday after next on January 3, 2022!!! Working to be the next #Louisville Mayor and could use some help!

Please help #TeamShameka raise $4500 for the #Shameka4Mayor campaign.

With our goal met, we will be able to do more campaign outreach, buy more yardsigns and get more printing done.

Every dollar goes a very long way!

Please give what you can.

We have amazing people that set up to give every month. Will you give $45 or become a monthly donor at $45, $25 or $10 a month?

Your dollars will go the furthest in my campaign for Mayor. Every dollar will support our local businesses first. From union operated and American made campaign gear & swag, to using small businesses that are Black and minority owned first. We plan to engage, employ and lift up everyone we can on this trail. Our goal is to raise $500,000 to one million dollars. We are already off to a great start but we will need more. Please consider pledging monthly. Giving as much as you can is so appreciated but it can not to exceed $2,000 each person. When you donate,  share about it to your family & friends and on your social media! Ask others to do the same. That’s how #WeGetThereTogether
Thank you!

About Shameka

Shameka Parrish-Wright’s journey to Louisville from Cincinnati began as simply Shameka Parrish, with 3 kids in tow, one on the way, jobless, and homeless. Originally from Ohio with a history of (what she calls) “chronic homelessnes,” she was raised by a single mother who often just didn’t have enough to make ends meet and she arrived in Louisville looking for a fresh start. She and her children stayed at an Extended Stay until the rates went up and she found refuge at Wayside Christian Mission. It was at Wayside where Shameka gave birth to her 4th child, met the man she would later marry, and built the foundation of a life that would allow her to become a major leader & supporter, uplifting people and issues in the Louisville community.

Letter to the People

Dear Louisville,

My name is Shameka Latonya Parrish-Wright and I am running to be your next Mayor of Louisville, Kentucky. For years, I’ve used my lived experiences, education and a variety of skills to bring the will and missing voices of the people in all that I do. While I can never erase my humble beginnings, my adverse childhood experiences made me knowledgeable and relatable to diverse groups of people, while allowing me to successfully navigate conflict resolution. It has been those experiences that shaped my leadership style and gave me the solutions-based skills that those in academia, city & state government, and social service agencies have come to rely on. I’ve had to show up, assess, listen, support, delegate and negotiate until we create what is needed- in every situation. I’m old enough to know your words and actions matter, but I’m still young enough to know that real change means we all have our role in society and, no matter what we do, we must keep human rights first.
